packaging cartons are widely used in modern packaging. The structure and shape of packaging cartons are rich and diverse, especially in gift packaging, handicraft packaging, cosmetics packaging, toy packaging, food packaging and other fields, the box type of packaging cartons changes more, and most of them are special-shaped packaging cartons with various functions. With the application of new technologies and the development of new products, commodities are constantly renovated, and varieties are growing. Therefore, it is very necessary to establish an overall box library and box accessories library

in the face of so many packaging cartons with different forms, so far, there is no unified and clear standard for the classification and naming of packaging cartons at home and abroad, which brings great difficulties to box type design, box type search and box type storage

Xinbei Packaging Carton CAD system includes carton type library, carton type design, composition, input and output, etc. This paper introduces the box type library of this system, including its characteristics and sub parts. This paper mainly teaches the experimental principle and characteristic class, naming and searching of cupping experimental machine, and puts forward a method of classification and naming. Of course, this is only a preliminary discussion, which needs to be further improved in production and practice

I. establishment of box library

the establishment process of box library is generally divided into the following five steps:

(1) collect box

(2) analyze the mutual restriction relationship between the dimensions of the box and various accessories

(3) use the drawing and tools in Xinbei CAD software to draw box drawings

(4) proofing correction

(5) named storage

in the above five steps, it is very important and complicated to analyze the restriction relationship between the size of the box and various accessories, which is related to whether the box type is reasonable and practical. For example, for cigarette packs, the state has relevant parameter regulations as standards, which can be used directly; However, for other boxes with no standards to refer to, it can only be analyzed according to the practical experience of making box type in the factory. In this system, the expressions of these dimensional constraints can be displayed through the dialog box for easy modification

a box file contains two parts: the file header and the file body

the file header includes the version number of the file, the document size of the open file, the size of the box, the producer and the production date (which can be blank)

the contents of the file body are roughly four parts:

(1) auxiliary reference lines, which are used to assist the design and of graphics

(2) box shaped graphics and their attribute values, including line segments, arcs, etc

(3) dimension lines and their attribute values

(4) parameters, parameter constraint expression and parameter value involved in box type

II. Characteristics of box type library

box type library includes two parts: overall box type library and accessories library. It has the following characteristics:

1. Convenience

the overall box type and box type accessories stored in the box type library can be used as reference examples for designers to call. When a designer needs a certain box type, he can find it from the overall box type library, and then call it out. He can get the required box type by modifying the length, width, height, paper thickness and other data. For the box type not in the integer library, you can refer to the box type and accessories in the box type library, and use the box type accessories in the accessories library to spell out the required box type

2. Accuracy

the accessories and box types in the box type library are obtained by studying the structure of various cartons and carrying out parametric design according to the general box type regularity and certain methods. In addition to the independent parameters, the parameters in the accessories are flexible, and other parameters have constraints on each other. Some are restricted by the box size and paper thickness, and some are restricted by other accessories. These constraints are determined according to the conditions required by the carton during molding, so as to ensure that the structure of each part is reasonable and closely matched. The parameters of the overall box type are determined by the corresponding formula, and will change with the length, width, height, paper thickness and correction parameters of the inner (or outer) carton

3. The accessories and box types in the open

box type library can be called and modified at will, and the manufactured accessories and box types can also be stored in the box type library. If you are not satisfied with some parts of the accessories in the accessories library, you can modify them and reset the parameter values. For the overall box type in the overall box type library, you can delete the accessories, transfer in new accessories, and modify the constraint relationship between parameters. After the new box type is modified, it can be stored in the corresponding box type library according to the given file format

III. classification and naming of box type

packaging cartons are classified according to different uses, carton shapes, processing and molding methods, etc. Xinbei system is classified according to the carton structure. It divides cartons into folding cartons, pasting cartons and combined cartons. Each kind of carton is subdivided according to its structural form. For example, folding carton is divided into tube box, disc box, tube disc box and non tube non disc box. Now take the tubular box as an example to explain the classification and naming of box type

1. The classification and naming of the whole box type

the naming of the whole box type is related to the classification of cartons, which is mainly based on the forming structure of cartons and named according to certain rules. According to the structural definition of the tubular folding carton, it is a carton folded by a sheet of cardboard. During the carton forming process, the side seam joints need to be bonded, and the lid and bottom of the carton need to be fixed or sealed by the folding assembly (or bonding) of the carton plate or flap

The box structure can be divided into main structure and local structure. The main structure refers to the structural form of the folding carton body. Local structure refers to the structural form of local folding carton, such as box cover, box bottom, box surface, box corner, etc., including lock mouth, self-locking, partition wall, window opening, display board, etc

the naming of the whole carton is to be expressed by 8 digits, as shown in Figure 1. The arrangement order of different digits or letters adopts the hierarchical order from the whole to the part, from the general category to the sub category, and then from the box body, the box cover to the box bottom structure. For the so-called special-shaped box, because it is a relatively vague concept, it is not a separate category, but according to their forming structure, it is divided into tube cartons, tray cartons and other categories

like this, they are classified according to a single standard (that is, the main structure of cartons), so as not to cause confusion in classification and naming due to the inconsistency of standards. For example, ftl12121 shown in Figure 2 indicates that the box cover and bottom are plug-in curved hole locked tubular folding cartons; The fth10300 shown in Figure 3 makes requirements for the applicability of materials, indicating the plug-in box cover lock bottom tube folding carton with bisector design

2. Box accessories

generally, cartons are generally composed of box body, box cover, box bottom, dust-proof flap, adhesive flap and other parts. Each part is a large category, which is named according to the complexity of different categories

take the dust flap (represented by D) as an example (the more commonly used flap is shown in Figure 4), which is named D_ 0sls_ 1。 The left end of the dust flap is indented (indicated by s) by a paper thickness, and the right end is indented by a paper thickness, and it is inserted into the cover to form a lock (indicated by 1) structure. The main variation is that the left end of the flap adopts different forms

the right end of the commonly used dust-proof flap in Figure 4 can be divided into four categories according to whether it is retracted or locked, which are recorded as 00 (no retracted lock), 0s (only retracted), 10 (only locked), 1s (with retracted lock). The classification of the left end of the dust flap is the same. The last digit of the name is the number, which represents different forms in a class, such as different forms of indentation or lock mouth, smooth connection with chamfer at the corner, etc. it is no longer subdivided here. the naming of box negatives is slightly more complicated. For example, the accessories of lock bottom (marked as 01) box are divided into three categories according to the different functions of the accessories that make up the box bottom, which are marked as a, B and C respectively. IV. search of box type

in the box type library, the extension of the overall box type and box type accessories file is OFG, and the initials of different types of box types and accessories are different. In the open box type search dialog box, enter the file type OFG, and enter the first letter or the first few letters of the file to be searched in the file type box to find the matching box type file in the current file directory. If the display mode is report (see Figure 8-1), the file name found will be displayed in the file list box. If the display mode is icon (see Figure 8-2), the found file icon and file name will be displayed in the file list box

this paper only briefly analyzes and introduces the box type naming method involved in establishing the box type library of Xinbei Packaging Carton CAD system
